Because I have been receiving an increasing number of requests from friends and acquaintances to take portrait photographs of them (or their children or pets), I decided to book myself onto a one-day intensive training course for studio portrait photography in Bonn today. This was only the second photo shoot for Natalia, the Russian model above - we were both working on a tfcd basis (she didn't charge for her time, since she needs a copy of the photographs taken on a CD for her portfolio; we didn't charge her, because we need the pictures for our portfolios too !!), so not only was it a challenge to light her, we also had to figure out the best poses and guide her - it was a very interesting, informative and enjoyable day, but showed me how much more I still have to learn !!

Natalia brought her friend, Kristina (another Russian lady), who also wanted portrait photographs for her portfolio.

Our next challenge was to light Kristina and Natalia together.
