After a day of very heavy rain, part of the road leading to Beacon Hill (near Newbury) was flooded ....
.... and even the footpath from the car park up Beacon Hill was also under water !!

The south-facing sloping hillsides along the Rhine valley are covered in vineyards for the production of white wine. In Leutesdorf (just south of Bonn and Linz), there is this statue of a grape picker.

On the way home from church, I stopped off in Ohlenberg (near Linz) to watch the MotoCross championships .... but since the rain was pouring down and they wanted Euro 10 admission, I took these photographs of the adjacent open quarry mine.

After work, I drove from Newbury to Folkestone, caught the 10:40 pm Euroshuttle (delayed from 8:20 pm) to Calais, then continued driving to my house .... stopping briefly to take this picture of The Spring pub in Sulhamstead (near Reading)

I spent today preparing my house in Neunkirchen for the new tenants to move into on 1st September, including removing the perspex shower screens (soon to be replaced by a new unit with safety glass)

This is a statue outside the shopping centre at the Euroshuttle terminal in Calais.
I flew back from Dubai airport at 2:30 pm to Frankfurt with Emirates (then caught the 8:32 pm ICE train to Montabaur, collected my car and drove home).
