My mother had a hip replacement operation last week, so just as I was trying to book a flight to visit her in England for a week, my ex-employers contacted me and asked if I would be prepared to come across to England and work for them during the summer holiday period ....

.... so today I lost my Virgin Atlantic virginity to this Scarlet Lady when I flew from Dubai to Heathrow.

I then collected a car that I bought (sight unseen) last week on eBay - this will be my transport for the next 10 weeks, before it reappears for sale on eBay again !!!

Despite the silky smooth 3.2 litre V8 engine, the Jaguar has averaged 26.2 mpg in the last week, with a mixture of cruising at 70 mph and town traffic !!
