Day trip to Sohar, Oman

I drove across to Sohar in Oman yesterday. Unfortunately the airconditioning in my car decided to fail, so the 41°C temperatures in the shade restricted my enthusiasm for rushing around taking photos !!

I had never seen a baby camel before, but judging by the lack of movement and the way that the mother kept nudging this baby, I fear that it might not have survived.

Sohar was the ancient capital of Oman and is believed to be the birthplace of Sinbad the Sailor .... and even today, fishing is extremely important and popular here.

I bet, just like Sinbad, this old fisherman has more than a few fascinating stories to tell !!

The metallic paintwork on this garage door changed colour as the light hit it at different angles.
