Mamzar Beach

Mamzar Beach is only two hundred metres south of Sharjah Beach, but is just on the Dubai side of the Dubia-Sharjah state border. Despite the heat and humidity, I went there on Thursday evening and took this picture of a family that were leaving Dubai after 18 years to fly back to India today.

Dune Buggy Bashing

I had an interesting morning photographing dune buggies racing around in the desert in 47°C sunshine .... but because I couldn't fit all my camera equipment and myself in one of the buggies (and take photos whilst I was driving it), I was chauffered around in a Toyota Land Cruiser pickup truck instead. The problem was that I was perched on the open flatbed, so I got covered in sand and bounced around everywhere, and am now nursing bruises on my legs and bum !! Sheeeessshhhh, I just hope my clients likes the photos that I got for them !!!

Sharjah Beach again !!

Maybe because I had lived in Germany for the last 26 years, where the nearest beach was over 350 kms away in Holland (and the sea is always freezing cold), I just can't resist going back to Sharjah beach (just 2 kms away and with lovely warm water !!)

I love the patterns in the sand created by the tiny crabs.

More fish plus vegetables

I thought I would go to the Fish and Vegetable Market in Deira today to get some nice shots there - but it was too hot and humid, the sweat was streaming from my forehead into my eyes, and I could hardly see through the camera viewfinder !!! Still, at least walking around in this giant sauna is helping me to loose some weight without having to go on a diet !!

Rule 1: Photograph the boss first, then he is more likely to let you photograph his colleagues afterwards !!
