Carneval in Rio de Janeiro, Mardi Gras in New Orleans, Fasching in Vienna .... this is an excellent excuse to have a massive party over the last few days prior to commencing 40 days of fasting leading up to Easter. The area around Cologne is no different, since the people here also celebrate Karneval, and it is a great (and expensive) honour to be chosen as the local Karneval Prince or Princess. This decorated wagon is parked up and ready for the celebrations of Prinz Lolly I of Troisdorf-Spich in the middle of next month, although it looks like the guy needs charging up !!
