This is the front of the Guildhall in Winchester. It was raining and rapidly getting dark outside, so I stood in the shelter of the bus stop to take these photographs.
Back to the village of Bad Honnef - Rhoendorf, and above a wine barrel the ornate sign greets all its guests.
This was apparently the source of the Drachenfels (Dragon Rock) from 1844 to 1949. The small sign on the left asks you not to feed the fish with anything other than the special food available from the Cafe Profittlich !!

On my regular Friday evening attempts to avoid the traffic jams on the M25 as I drive from Newbury to Folkestone (to catch the Euroshuttle train across to Calais, and then drive home), I went through Bisley today, and photographed the clock on the village green.
When I came out of work this evening, there was a spectacular rainbow across the car park !!

Another typical house in the lovely village of Longparish
This is Ivy Cottage in the picturesque village of Longparish. Almost every house along the narrow lane that runs through this village has a thatched roof !!
Opposite Ivy Cottage and looking very out-of-place in the perfect and tidy village was the remains of a ca. 1971 Ford Escort Mexico - the road-going version of a successful rally car, now in need of some tender loving care !!
On the left is the St. Maria Chapel in Bad Honnef - Rhoendorf, with the Drachenfels in the background.
The chapel is on an island, with the road splitting off left and right around it !!

One of the trees near my house which fell over during a storm has been chopped up into small discs .... 
.... which were then painted !!
Friday evening was spent as usual in my car, either driving on the motorway or travelling under the English Channel in the Euroshuttle train.
The trains has two types of carriages .... one with a large single deck, usually reserved for coaches, lorries, camper vans and caravans, and one with two decks for cars.
This is the view of one of the car decks ...
.... and for comparison, I travelled last week for the first time ever in one of the open single deck carriages.
